The Thermo Scientific ThermoFlex™ 2500 (formerly NESLAB ThermoFlex 2500) is a high-performance, benchtop or floor-standing recirculating chiller designed to provide reliable, energy-efficient cooling for demanding laboratory, analytical, industrial, and light-manufacturing applications. With a cooling capacity of up to 2,500 W (8,538 BTU/h) at 60 Hz​ and 2,200 W (7,513 BTU/h) at 50 Hz @ 20°C, it is ideally suited to cool ICP-MS and ICP-OES spectrometers, NMR magnets, electron microscopes, lasers, rotary evaporators, pilot-scale reactors, and other heat-generating process equipment. By recirculating a closed-loop coolant rather than using once-through tap water, the ThermoFlex 2500 conserves water, eliminates fluctuations caused by variable mains water temperature, and protects sensitive instrumentation from contamination and scaling.

The chiller features an intuitive digital controller with a backlit display showing setpoint and actual fluid temperature, high/low fluid-level alerts, and fault diagnostics. Temperature stability is tightly maintained at ±0.1°C​ across a standard operating range of 5 to 40°C, with an optional high-temperature configuration extending to 90°C​ and a low-temperature option down to –5°C​ for specialized processes. The internal 7.2 L (1.9 gal) reservoir​ is constructed of stainless steel or chemical-resistant polyethylene and is paired with a full-flow inline fluid filter to protect both the pump and the connected application from particulate contamination.

To match varying system pressure-drop requirements, the ThermoFlex 2500 is available with multiple pump configurations: the P1 positive displacement pump​ (≈2.1 gpm @ 60 psig), the higher-capacity P2 positive displacement pump​ (up to 4.0 gpm @ 60 psig / 15.1 L/min @ 4.1 bar at 60 Hz; 3.3 gpm / 12.5 L/min at 50 Hz), and the T1 turbine pump​ (up to 3.5 gpm @ 60 psid / 13.2 L/min @ 4.1 bar at 60 Hz). Condenser options include air-cooled (standard) or water-cooled variants for installation in enclosed cabinets or warm environments. Select models are offered in a Low-Noise version (<58 dBA)​ for quiet operation in occupied laboratories.

Routine maintenance is simplified by top-accessible air intake filters and a user-replaceable fluid filter cartridge that can be changed while the unit is running. A broad range of factory-installed options is available, including a built-in heater (1.2 kW or 2.3/2.8 kW depending on voltage), automatic reservoir refill kit, deionization (DI) cartridge with resistivity monitoring, flow-control valve with digital readout, pressure relief valve, and remote temperature sensor. Communication capabilities include analog I/O as standard, with optional RS-232 and RS-485 digital interfaces​ for remote monitoring, data logging, and integration into facility control systems.

The rugged cabinet is finished with a powder-coated, corrosion-resistant steel enclosure and is certified to CE, CSA, and SEMI S2​ standards (including EMO capability, LOTO circuit breaker, and GFCI availability on selected models). Compact yet powerful, the ThermoFlex 2500 represents a configurable, easy-to-maintain, and highly reliable thermal management solution for analytical laboratories, universities, pharmaceutical QC, biotech, semiconductor test, and industrial process cooling.
